Welcome.
I’m Aastha! A mental health therapist and consultant. I provide safe, supportive, non-judgmental, culturally-informed, and anti-oppressive therapy to adults. My therapeutic style is warm and compassionate, utilizing humor when appropriate!
My therapeutic philosophy is that your mind and body have an innate wisdom about what they need to flourish - they need the right support and environment - my main goal is to support you in facilitating this process.
With the right support, you can feel better.

Bodhi Holistic Collective accepts Aetna insurance and is an out-of-network provider. Although we only take Aetna as insurance, most of our clients who don’t have Aetna, are able to use their out-of-network benefits, in which they receive partial or full reimbursement for session costs through their insurance.
KEY INFORMATION:
If not using Aetna for insurance, clients are responsible for paying the full cost of their therapy session on the day of service. Clients may then pursue their own out-of-network insurance reimbursements after session.
We will provide you with a “superbill” if requested, within 48 hours after your session.
If you plan on independently pursuing reimbursement through your insurance, you would submit the superbill to your insurance company. Once they process your claim, if eligible, you will receive a reimbursement from your insurance company. The reimbursement amount depends on your specific plan, but clients have reported anywhere between 50%-100% reimbursement of their session costs.
With an exception of Aetna, Bodhi Holistic Collective does not bill, preauthorize, or interact with insurance companies in any capacity.
-
If you are planning on independently pursuing reimbursement with your insurance company, here are some questions to consider asking your insurance provider:
Does my plan have out-of-network benefits?
What percentage am I reimbursed for routine out-of-network behavioral health care (i.e. what is the percentage I will be reimbursed of my therapist’s fee?)
Do I have a deductible to meet?
What is the process for submitting a reimbursement claim once I receive a superbill from my therapist?
IMPORTANT: Since there is likely a shortage of multicultural and Asian American therapists in-network with insurance, you can put in a request for an “out-of-network benefit exception” with your insurance company (the clinical reason being “cultural match/fit”). If your insurance cannot prove they have a provider who is in-network, culturally competent, and in alignment with your specific needs, they are responsible to reimburse for out-of-network care.

We offer a few time-limited sliding scale/reduced fee spots to clients experiencing financial hardship related to job loss or job insecurity.
Existing clients may request sliding scale options during session or by email. If sliding scale spots are available, the sliding scale agreement will be sent via client portal.
Sliding scale is not available for couple/ relationship sessions.

All clients are required to have a credit or debit card on file (HSA & FSA accepted) which is stored in your HIPAA-compliant client portal and will automatically be charged on the day of your session and/or kept on file in the event of any late cancellations. Full payment is due on the day of service.
-
We understand that life happens and things come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule there is no charge if you provide us at least 48 hours notice. Barring certain emergencies, late cancellations (i.e. anything less than 48 hours) will be charged 50% of your scheduled session rate.
Appointment cancellations less than 24 hours or not showing up to a session will be charged 100% of your scheduled session rate.
Sessions are automatically cancelled when a client is more than 15 minutes late to a session and the cancellation fee will apply.
-
Due to licensing laws, telehealth services are currently available to clients physically in the areas of Maryland during their session.
You will receive an automated HIPAA-compliant link to join your telehealth appointment and appointment reminders prior to your scheduled appointment time. Sessions will not be able to proceed if you are driving.

Consultations are not psychotherapy and do not entail diagnosing mental health conditions.
Consultations are meetings designated for exchanging information about my areas of expertise in order for you to reach a better understanding of a specific topic as it pertains to your life or to make a decision in your life. Some examples of consultations may include the following but not limited to: parenting consultation, understanding trauma, learning about somatic exercises, and/or providing trauma training to an organization. I provide consultations worldwide.
Consultation is not intended to be a substitute for individuals needing to address mental health or medical issues. It is your responsibility to seek a licensed therapist or healthcare provider, either as an adjunct to the work you do with me, or as an alternative, if you should feel the need for such care to arise.
